Halo TV series: Steven Spielberg was the “godfather” of the show

Steven Spielberg was the “godfather” of the Halo TV series. Here are the details on the director’s involvement.

Speaking in an interview published in the latest issue of Total Film magazine, Executive Producer Darryl Clark said, Steven Spielberg was the “godfather” of the show and worked on every aspect.

First of all, however, we must go back to 2015, the year of arrival of the Halo TV series according to the very first plans of the company. Steven Spielberg was supposed to direct that show, but ultimately the project suffered delays and faced multiple problems. In his place, Rupert Wyatt was then placed – in 2018 – but in the same year the man left and Otto Bathurst took charge of the project by directing multiple episodes of the series.

How much of Spielberg is left in the Halo TV series? According to Executive Producer Darryl Clark, Spielberg actually continued to work on the show. Here are his words, in translation: “We always treated it as though it was a legacy project of Steven’s. He godfathered it in terms of reading every script, helping choose showrunners, writers, director, cast, production design, and visual effects; every aspect of it, he looked at”.

It therefore appears that Spielberg never really completely left the project. Do you like it?
