Filming for the first episode of the long-awaited HBO TV series The Last of Us has come to an end, as suggested by director Kantemir Balagov.
Work on the first episode of the highly anticipated TV series of The Last of Us made by HBO apparently have finally come to an end.
The confirmation comes with an Instagram post by Kantemir Balagov , who in fact directed the first of ten episodes scheduled for the first season, where he states: ” My job here is done. I’m really grateful for the opportunity. It was a great experience with ups & downs “. The post follows thanking the insiders, mentioning among other things Neil Druckmann, the co-president of Naughty Dog, and Pedro Pascal, the actor who plays Joel.
Balgov was in charge of directing the first episode, while the rest of the first season of The Last of Us TV series will be handled by Jasmila Zbanic and Ali Abbasi.
The Last of Us TV series is the first television production from PlayStation Productions , a studio formed by Sony to adapt the exclusive games of its first parties into works for the big and small screen. Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) will be Joel, while Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will be Ellie. The series is expected to cover the events of the first The Last of Us.
Pre-production on the series began in mid-March, while actual shooting began in July. The work on the first episode will also have been completed, but there will still be a long way to go, given that the final date of production is set for June 2022 , which will be followed by the airing of the first season premiered on HBO .
