Assassin’s Creed Infinity will still be single player and narrative

After uncovering the case of Pandora, Jason Schreier returns to talk about Assassin’s Creed Infinity , the live service evolution of the famous Ubisoft series. The Bloomberg colleague not only confirmed that the game is many years away, but he wanted to point out that the definition “live service” does not mean that the game will be like Destiny or Anthem. Indeed, it will retain the highly narrative single player structure of its predecessors, only that it will be part of a larger universe.

In the past few hours, the American journalist had unveiled this evolution for the Assassin’s Creed series, an evolution that also required a rethinking and reorganization of the Montreal and Quebec studios.

The change, however, will be less profound than many may fear. In fact, the game formula will remain practically unchanged and that “live service” linked to the project does not mean that the game will turn into a sort of Destiny. Except that the series will become part of a less static universe organized in sealed and constantly evolving compartments .

“Since many have misunderstood, I want to insist: Assassin’s Creed Infinity as a live service platform does not mean that it will be a Destiny or an Anthem. There will likely be narrative content to play alone in the Assassin’s Creed style, but it will all be part of. Infinity, “Schreier wrote on Twitter.

“In fact, if all goes well (again, we are years away from release) they could experiment with small Assassin’s Creed content without having to create games of 500 hours each, since these small parts will be incorporated into a platform in constantly evolving, and they don’t necessarily have to be suitable for an annual release. ”
