Dead Space will have elements from the sequels, no microtransactions

Dead Space was clearly the loudest announcement of this EA Play Live 2021. The first installment of the series is as much loved as the two fan-hated sequels. For this reason, it is not surprising that EA Motive, when it talks about Dead Space 2 and 3, does it with lead feet. In fact, the senior producer Phil Ducharme , speaking of how the remake will take some elements seen in the two sequels, wanted to ensure that among these there are no microtransactions .

The parable of Dead Space was very rapid: within a few years the Visceral Games series went from being a cult product to being an example of how large multinationals were able to ruin the most beautiful games. Despite the “wrong” setting, Dead Space 2 and 3 in terms of gameplay evolved the control system and also introduced some interesting weapons or variables.

For this reason it is not surprising that EA Motive wants to use some of these ideas in the original game, just as we are not surprised that the senior producer Phil Ducharme also wants to ensure that among the things stolen by the sequels there are also microtransactions, the ” proof “of this wrong way of conceiving video games.

“We are seeing what could fit into the game by looking at it from the future. But we’ve also learned from mistakes like microtransactions, which we won’t have, to be exact, in our game,” Ducharme told IGN. This is the same principle used by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which contributed to the success of the Respwn action.

This means that EA Motive will only take what has been improved in the sequels (such as the 0 gravity sections of Dead Space 2) and try to see how they integrate with Dead Space 1 gameplay.
