Fall Guys earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever.
Mediatonic announced that Fall Guys has been officially certified by Guinness World Records as the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game ever.
Fall Guys arrived on the market on August 4, 2020 and in a few days it has achieved truly exceptional success. The Mediatonic battle royale has in fact managed to conquer millions of players all over the world thanks to an extremely fun formula suitable for players of all kinds, even those unfamiliar with battle royale. The success of the game is obviously also due to the launch directly in the PlayStation Plus, which allowed millions of users subscribing to the service to download and try it for free, with the subsequent word of mouth that did the rest.
On August 26, 2020, the PlayStation Twitter account announced that Fall Guys had broken the record as the most downloaded title in the Instant Game Collection . The new record set by Mediatonic’s battle royale remained undefeated in the following months, despite competition from the likes of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Player’s Unknown Battlegrounds.
Today, more than a year later, Mediatonic announced on Twitter that Fall Guys has obtained the official certification of the Guiness World Records and therefore will have a mention in the next edition of the book of the same name, together with Sony PlayStation (record as the best-selling console brand) , Hideo Kojima (game director with the most followers on Twitter and Instagram) and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (record for the most despised comment on Reddit) .
