Far Cry 6: Ubisoft wants to avoid making the same mistakes as Cyberpunk

Since its presentation yesterday,  Far Cry 6  has been getting a lot of attention. Between those who are seduced and those who are more skeptical, the title divides like any headline to come. As such, the game’s lead gameplay designer reassured the players. Indeed, Ubisoft does not want its future hit to experience the same setbacks as  Cyberpunk 2077 , particularly on older generation consoles. As a reminder, the launch of the last CD Projekt production had been complicated to say the least on PS4 and Xbox One. There followed a withdrawal from the PS Store and multiple legal disputes.

Far Cry 6 is also a cross-gen game like its Polish counterpart. Thus, David Grivel of Ubisoft Toronto spoke to VGC by assuring that the studio was “ very attentive”  on this point. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will therefore be presented before the title is released.

As the weeks and months come and go, we’ll definitely start showing more on the different platforms. What I can say, and I can’t go into specs or things like that, is that on both the previous gen and the new gen Xbox and PS5 the game is performing well.

If you are still on the older generation, we still recommend that you wait until you see gameplay on the said consoles before purchasing. As the expression goes, prudence is the mother of safety.
