Final Fantasy 14 went sold out in the official store of Square Enix, despite being sold in format digital . In theory, a digital asset should not run out, but in this case it was the very high demand for the game that forced the Japanese publisher to limit sales temporarily, causing this very strange situation.
Final Fantasy 14 is experiencing a really positive moment, which sees it in clear growth of players. It’s nice to see the Square Enix MMORPG renew its success in this way, after one of the most disastrous launches ever, dating back to the now distant 2010. The success of the last few days has however brought an unexpected problem, we imagine by anyone: the inability to access the game servers for many players.
To remedy this, Square Enix would have decided to stop digital sales, while dedicating itself to strengthening the game servers, at least according to what was reported by the Australian YouTube channel Skill Up.
It must be said that for now the sales are stopped only on the Square Enix website, while on Steam and PlayStation Store Final Fantasy XIV can be purchased regularly. The same goes for physical copies.
We hope that Square Enix solves in time, before the arrival of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker , the new expansion that will conclude the current narrative arc.
