Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade had Yuffie in INTERmission, and not Vincent, because canonically he is in a coffin

Yuffie Kisaragi and Vincent Valentine were optional characters in the original Final Fantasy VII , you could play the entire game without recruiting them. But with the chapters from here on in the remake, they are now prepared to be official members of the team .

Following the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and INTERmission , The Gamer had a chat with its co-director Motomu Toriyama . They have talked about the inclusion of Yuffie in the remake and why she was chosen over Vicent Valentine ; simple: she ‘s busy taking a nap .

” Yuffie, heroine of Episode Intermission, did not join your group in the original game, but that made her character give us more freedom to expand her background, ” said Toriyama. ” Compared to Vicent, who canonically sleeps in a coffin under Shinra Mansion and cannot move, Yuffie does .”

” She moves as a hunter and by adding events from FF7R Intermission’s Midgar to that trip, we were able to show the feelings that revolve around the incident, hidden under her cheerful personality and that will later be linked to her story .”

These circumstances are a bit comedy if you think about it, although they make perfect sense when you consider exactly how FF7R will introduce certain characters. Yuffie is on the world map, which is why Square Enix introduced her in a linear fashion for veterans and newcomers.

” I want to do it so that fans who know the original and the different universe of FF7 can see how they come together and relate to each other. And, at the same time, tell how deep and amazing the world and characters of the saga are to the newcomers who they don’t know anything, “explained Toriyama.

As for whether Advent Children , Dirge of Cerberus, and other spin-offs are considered canon in this universe, Toriyama describes Final Fantasy VII Remake as a ” union ” of all these different materials.

” Remake is based on the original, but made after all these additions to the universe, so we want to take advantage of it and we are planning a kind of ‘union’ of all the works of the Final Fantasy 7 universe to date “.

Remember that it has also been said that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will take advantage of the “vastness of the world” , in addition to that the next episodes will have more changes compared to the original .
