Far Cry 6 presented its first gameplay through a recent broadcast. One of the scenes that caught the eye was, for a brief moment, the perspective changed from first person to third person. Although many fans thought it was an aesthetic element for the trailer, Ubisoft assured that there will be certain sections in which the perspective will change.
As Gamespot reported, there will be some points in the game where the camera will swap between the first and third person. Most of these moments will be related to the story, but the change in perspective will also make an appearance in specific gameplay situations.
FAR CRY 6 WILL SEEK TO BETTER HIGHLIGHT DANI ROJAS, THE MAIN CHARACTER
Unlike Far Cry 5, the sixth installment will introduce a protagonist with dialogue, motivations and personality. Although players will be able to select their gender, Dani Rojas will play an important role in the narrative of this new adventure.
Navid Khavari, Narrative Director for Far Cry 6, discussed the change in perspective in an email to Gamespot. “In cinematics, the third person is something the team tried from the beginning and felt surprisingly good. Instantly I felt that there was more connection with Dani’s trip around the world ”.
Additionally, the creative commented that in the camps the perspective will change to the third person. This will also allow you to appreciate the customization elements of the main character and see their interactions with the rest of the cast.
In terms of gameplay, the third-person camera will appear the moment the powerful abilities of Dani’s backpack are used. As Navid Khavari explained, that decision was made to allow players to see and feel the effects of the backpack.
But tell us, what do you think of this mechanic? Would you like to see a Far Cry in the third person? Let us read you in the comments.
