It seems that it is only a matter of time before Halo Infinite receives a Battle Royale mode. Little by little, more details of this secret project emerge, which would be in the hands of Certain Affinity , a study that has worked repeatedly on the saga and is now dealing with the future of the most recent title.
According to sources like Windows Central editor Jez Corden, the Battle Royale mode is codenamed Tatanka and has been in development for at least a couple of years. Thus, it would be a very ambitious novelty that would try to capture the attention of lovers of the genre.
During The Xbox Two podcast, Corden revealed more interesting details about the project that would already be in the testing phase for its launch in a few more seasons.
LEAKED MORE DETAILS ABOUT HALO INFINITE ‘S BATTLE ROYALE
It is said that Tatanka seeks to be an accessible experience so that all types of players can enjoy it. His goal is to attract more people to the franchise while also attracting attention from larger communities like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone .
Corden raised the hype of the players, as he assured that the Battle Royale is something ambitious and that it is practically a separate game. Its launch would still be far away, as informants say that it is planned for Season 3 or 4. The good news is that it could be revealed as early as June.
“This targets the Fortnite audience, the Warzone audience , this is going to be a little bit broader. And I have received information that it is a kind of Battle Royale with a smaller and smaller arena. I don’t know if it will be a team-based thing like Apex Legends or more of a solo thing,” the source stated.
He added that players have no reason to worry, as this project will not mean that 343i abandons the development of the core experience of Halo Infinite , much less the saga in its entirety.
“Don’t think this is something where you’re going to go all out and just ignore the rest of the game. Because that’s not going to happen. Because obviously 343i is working on that and they’re hiring and they’re upgrading to streamline the live service with more maps,” Corden concluded.
On the other hand, the Twitter account InfiniteLeaks shared a list with the alleged configuration options of Tatanka. If true, it would be a fairly complete modality.
Halo Infinite is available for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC.
