Judgment: physical and digital sales hit one million

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has just officially confirmed that Judgment has reached one million copies sold worldwide, calculating both physical and digital sales. This is undoubtedly a good result for the spin-off of the Yakuza series , which originally arrived on Western PS4s in the summer of 2019.

Set in Kamurocho and re-proposing the fighting style already appreciated in the main series, Judgment has managed to distinguish itself from Yakuza by offering investigative mechanics and even more marked social interactions, conquering the public with an engaging story that has seen the detective Takayuki Yagami follow in the footsteps of a mysterious serial killer who, as a distinctive trait, dug the eyes of his victims out of their sockets. In addition to the original release on PS4 , the title produced by SEGA later made its debut also on PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X / S and Google Stadiain the course of 2021, thus expanding its catchment area even further until reaching the milestone of one million units sold.

The success of the title prompted Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio to start development of the second installment of the series: Lost Judgment will arrive in September on PlayStation and Xbox . And for the first time ever, a game from the Yakuza franchise will be released simultaneously worldwide across all territories.
