According to the latest reports, BioWare will probably abandon Frostbite and create a new Mass Effect on the Unreal Engine.
Today we come to you with another interesting issue – a new job offer has appeared on the BioWare website, which tells us that Electronic Arts is looking for a technical director to deal with the development of the upcoming Mass Effect. There would be nothing unusual about this, if not for a line that reads as follows:
We are looking for candidates who have experience with the Unreal Engine.
This is interesting because, as the fans of the Canadian band are well aware, the latest productions of the team were made on the Frostbite graphics engine. It offers a really nice graphic design, but few people can master it, which makes it very troublesome for many developers – you can even recall the situation with Mass Effect: Andromeda and facial animations around the game’s premiere.
The whole situation is spiced up by the fact that the first three Mass Effect titles are based on the Unreal Engine. Since BioWare had a problem with Frostbite, which was originally created for FPP shooters, who knows, maybe the team will now switch to the work created by Epic Games?
