Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami is closing the online servers of some versions

Konami has announced the closure of the online servers of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with immediate cessation of purchases.

Konami has announced on its official website the closure of the online servers of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain . From today it is no longer possible to make purchases in the game, while the definitive closure, which will make Metal Gear Online inaccessible, will take place on May 31, 2022.

Of course, the single player campaign will remain untouched by the initiative and will be playable even after the closure, but Metal Gear Online will become a dead letter.

In addition to the phases already announced, the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain server shutdown program provides for the cessation of the sale of the DLCs starting from November 30, 2021, then the removal of the game from the sale of the PS3 and Xbox 360 digital stores. starting from March 1, 2022.

Konami is also keen to specify that it will not refund in-game purchases in any way, which obviously will disappear into thin air along with the servers.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is one of the last major titles to be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well, considering that it dates back to 1 September 2015, when PS4 and Xbox One had already been on the market for about a year.

However, for now the PC, Xbox One and PS4 versions will not be touched.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the final chapter of the Kojima series, which hasn’t had any new episodes since, despite the many requests from fans. This is Konami’s latest known move regarding the series, which follows the update of Metal Gear, Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 on GOG .
