The monsters of Monster Hunter Rise may take players by surprise in the Sunbreak expansion, as they will have new attacks in their reporting.
There are still several months to go until the launch of Sunbreak , the “massive” expansion of Monster Hunter Rise , but Capcom is already sharing some interesting information about the DLC via Twitter. For example, today confirmed that monsters will use new attacks in Master Rank .
For the uninitiated, in the expansion the roster of giant monsters will be expanded with old glories of the series, such as the Shogun Ceanataur , and brand new monsters, such as the Malzeno, the elder dragon that appears in the first official trailer . Among the various innovations there will also be the Master Degree (formerly called G Rank) which will test the skills of hunters.
In addition to being more resistant and hitting harder than usual, in the Master Degree the monsters of the base game will be equipped with new attacks, as confirmed by Capcom on Twitter, and therefore could catch unprepared even the hunters who have faced them hundreds of times in the low and high grade.
For those who have played the series for years this is not a novelty, since the same happened in the previous chapters. For example, in Iceborne, the Monster Hunter World expansion, almost all the monsters in the base game had at least one new move available, as well as often different attack patterns . We can probably expect similar treatment in Rise as well.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be available during the summer for Nintendo Switch and PC. To access the expansion, you must own the base game and complete the level 7 hub quest “Goddess of Thunder”. Monster Hunter Rise is already available for Nintendo Switch, while on PC it will arrive on January 12, 2022.
