Sony may be getting ready to launch the bomb later this year. At a potential PlayStation Experience or The Game Awards, we should see a new game heading towards PS5. Information about the production unexpectedly appeared during the program of an Irish radio station.
We’ve witnessed various surprising leaks or disclosures ahead of official announcements in recent years, but we rarely hear about a new PlayStation game from … Irish Radio. During the WLR FM broadcast, there was a conversation about the work of one of the local artists – the artist used to develop music for the PlayStation production:
“Question: Just go back there to the PlayStation game… what’s that on about?
“Yeah, so that actually happened about a year and half—it was just after the pandemic hit. Michael McGlynn got in touch and just said, ‘Listen, we’re writing music for a remake of a PlayStation game’—and he’s done that a lot, he’s done a lot of writing for different games that are very well known. But I’m actually not a gamer myself. So anyway, he says, ‘Look, it’s an Irish language piece that they’re looking for.’ So really what I was involved with was the lyric writing in the Irish language, and his daughter sang on the track and his wife arranged part of the choral parts, and so did Michael. And he also worked with me on the language side of things, so it was almost like a family effort. For ages I wasn’t allowed to really—you don’t know what you’re writing for, it’s all kind of undisclosed because they don’t want it to get out. So it’s actually going to be announced at Christmas—the name of the game. I have heard of it now and I have confirmed it is a big game, which is great! It’s going to be an Irish language piece in the game, which is brilliant.”
Most likely, we should not wait for the presentation exactly during the holidays, but according to the industry schedule, The Game Awards will take place in the indicated period, and we will probably also see the next edition of PlayStation Experience. We already reported on rumors that Sony would organize a party, and during the event we will see a game “that has been rumored for a LONG TIME” .
An excerpt from the interview with a mention of the PlayStation offer can be heard HERE – the discussion took place on the program “The Lunchbox” on October 7 (12:00 – 13:00, skip to 36:40).
Of course, we have to wait for official news from Sony, but while analyzing the aforementioned Irish culture theme, there were speculations that the team and the artist were working on a remake of Getaway (a title debuting on PS2, the action of which takes place on the streets of London), or Folklore, whose premiere was held on PS3. Remember, however, that these are only assumptions.
