There are long-awaited video games, and then there’s The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 . The long-awaited sequel to the Nintendo Switch exclusive was announced at E3 2019, but Nintendo hasn’t talked about the game again or when it will go on sale … although there are certain rumors about it.

First of all, say that this is just a rumor , and that it is likely a mistake. Austrian video game store Gameware is targeting the second half of 2021 for the game’s launch window, making use of an unofficial cover.

The first thing that stands out is the latter. The Breath of the Wild 2 file on this page uses a fan art as cover, which reduces the credibility of the rumor, although it is striking that it does not set the date for December 31, 2021 , the most common in these cases (such as already happened with Elden Ring).

This website announces the title of Nintendo Switch for the second half of the year , at a price of 68 euros, although it is possible that it refers to the fiscal year in its entirety. This runs from April 2021 to next March 2022 , which is when the first Breath of the Wild will be five years old.

Breath of the Wild 2 is one of the games that we name the most when we refer to the titles that will arrive this year, and it would be the perfect opportunity, since the Zelda saga turns 35. What’s more, some insiders suggest that more games of the saga will arrive in the coming months, as a compilation.

It must be said that this rumor also affects another game that is coming to Nintendo Switch (and PS4) for this year: Shin Megami Tensei 3 HD. The website of this store dates this Atlus video game for next May, although it is not confirmed.

Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 forms, along with Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 , the most anticipated triumvirate of exclusive games for Nintendo Switch for the coming months / years, although for the moment Nintendo has not revealed the date or new details of these three Titles.

Do you think we will see the sequel to Breath of the Wild this year? We cannot affirm it, although as we say, it would be a great opportunity to celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda in a tremendous way, as well as a great year for Nintendo Switch. .
