Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in Unreal Engine 4 Fan-made Trailer

Rockstar and Take-Two are slated to release remasters of GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas this fall. The remasters are supposedly made on the Unreal Engine, they did not completely rework the graphics in them – and this is interesting.

The fact is, reminds Eurogamer, that we can roughly imagine what GTA San Andreas looks like based on Unreal Engine 4. All thanks to a fan project: a group of players tried to recreate the world of San Andreas on a new engine.

When creating the video, released a little over a year ago, fans actively used the assets of the original game. It is assumed that the developers of the official remasters did about the same. However, the lighting and graphic effects are new here.

Most likely, by the time the video was released, the official remaster of GTA San Andreas had already been created. This is indicated by the reaction of Take-Two: the company quickly secured the blocking of the video and allowed it to be re-published only after the fans made it clear that they were not going to release their remaster.
