Silent Hill Creator Releases Video Talking About His New Horror Game And Wearing Concept Art

Keiichiro Toyama, creator of Silent Hill and his newly formed studio: Bokeh Game Studio, have shared details of their new horror project.

While Silent Hill and his return continue to star in rumors , the creator of the famous horror franchise, Keiichiro Toyama, already seems fully focused on his new project. The Japanese creative announced some time ago that it was a game that  “will attract fans of his previous work,” which set expectations very high.

Hand in hand with his new studio,  Bokeh Game Studio , Toyama continues his development without offering much more details apart from this revelation, but he has surprisingly released a video of a minute where he talks and comments on some relevant details about his current work.

Regarding our first game, I have multiple addresses for my works. The one I took is pretty dark, far from my most recent titles. It is as if I go back to my roots, for example towards horror. My ideas were beginning to go in that direction. This is where I got my first title. However, rather than something deeply rooted in horror, I want to keep a note of entertainment. While I maintain the elements of horror, I want the player to feel exhilarated while playing , explained the Japanese.

My vision of horror is everyday life that is shaking up. Instead of showing scary things, it should question our position, make us challenge the fact that we live in peace. I like to bring these kinds of thoughts into my concepts. I’d like that to be the theme of my next game. You have these normal people driven into irrational situations. They are on edge emotionally, as they face action or drama. This influenced me and I think it will be seen in my next game

One feature of my games is the setting, in which city or town we evolved, how did these people get there, what is their emotional state. This is how I approach games. This time also the places inspired me and I started with that. I’m wandering around maps, trying various methods to create the scenery.
