A couple of days ago we told you that in a presentation Sony seemed to have revealed the name and logo of the new God of War game. This caused a lot of uncertainty and today Sony finally confirmed that it was an error and explained what happened.
After many took for granted that Kratos’ next adventure would be called God of War: Ragnarok judging by the logo that Sony shared in an official presentation with investors, Sony clarified that the name and logo of this new title “still they are not final ”.
WHY DID SONY USE THE WRONG LOGO FOR THE NEW GOD OF WAR?
Some people pointed out that Sony would have used an unofficial logo (fanart) that it found in an image search and, although it does not confirm it, that appears to be the case.
In a statement that PlayStation sent to IGN, it is reported that in the presentation with investors “an incorrect logo was used by mistake” and took the opportunity to apologize for the confusion that caused this.
“The name and logo for our next God of War game are not final yet. An incorrect logo was used by mistake in our investor relations presentation. We can’t wait to show more and we apologize for any confusion, ”explained PlayStation and shared a corrected image of the presentation.
WHAT WILL THE NEW GOD OF WAR GAME BE CALLED?
It is normal for players to think that the new God of War will have the subtitle Ragnarok , because, although Sony until now has only referred to the title as “the new God of War game “, Cory Barlog, leader of the project, once he hinted that “Ragnarok is coming. “
In addition, this is reinforced if we take into account that now the series is inspired by Nordic culture, apart from the fact that in the reveal trailer it is seen that the new game will be a sequel and will follow this theme.
However, we will have to wait, as Sony says, to know the final title of the game and more details, such as the possibility that it is intergenerational. We will keep you informed.
What’s your opinion about it? Do you think that in the end the title will be called God of War: Ragnarok? Tell us in the comments.
