Steam Deck on the first benchmarks. The player checks Cyberpunk 2077’s liquidity, battery and temperature

We don’t have to wait for the official Steam Deck release date to learn very important details about the device. The first benchmarks have already been confirmed and we even got to know the smoothness of the animation in Cyberpunk 2077.

Steam Deck is set to debut at the end of the year, but Valve has still not confirmed the final release date of the console. The first developers already received the hardware, so we could check the gameplay or even look at the device menu .

The materials are not official, as Valve does not allow similar content, but as it turns out – the first serious Steam Deck tests have already appeared. One of the players decided to try Cyberpunk 2077 and in his opinion – the game on high settings works at about 20-30 frames per second.

This is how the benchmarks look like:

  • Shadow of The Tomb Raider (high settings) – 30+ FPS on average
  • Shadow of The Tomb Raider (custom settings) – 60+ FPS on average
  • Doom Eternal (custom settings) – 46 FPS on average
  • Doom Eternal (low settings) – 60 FPS on average
  • DOTA 2 (high settings) – 47 FPS
  • DOTA 2 (low settings) – 80 FPS
  • Cyberpunk 2077 (high settings) – 20 – 30 FPS

As you can see in the case of DOOM Eternal and Shadow of The Tomb Raider, we can even count on 60 frames – of course, in this situation we will not get the best setting, but there will certainly be players who will decide to lower the quality of the graphics to see the smooth action.

During operation, the Steam Deck heats up to about 43C on the bottom and 29C near the grips, but such temperature should not negatively affect the gameplay. When it comes to battery performance – the battery charged to 100% dropped to 46% after three hours of gameplay, so we can probably count on 4-5 hours of play in portable mode.
