Publisher Curve Digital proudly announced that sales of The Ascent on PC and Xbox during launch weekend generated a whopping $ 5 million, the highest grossing in the publisher’s history .
An exceptional result for the cyberpunk action RPG developed by Neon Giant, achieved despite the debut in Xbox Game Pass for PC, console and cloud which took place immediately on day-one.
“The Ascent is the first game from Curve Digital to have seen our team make their mark, working closely with the developer and platform partners,” said CEO John Clark in a press release. “The success is the result of the genuine efforts of the entire company and the arrival of new leadership and new talents, and is the mirror of the new approach that provides greater proximity to gamers and developers” .
Word of mouth among gamers would also have contributed to the success of The Ascent during the launch weekend, says Curve Digital, in addition to the excellent reception given to it by the international press. Neon Giant didn’t sit on its laurels, however, and immediately got to work fixing bugs in The Ascent’s co-op modes and enabling ray tracing and DLSS on the PC version in Xbox Game Pass .
