The Elder Scrolls Online: PS5 and Xbox Series X and S versions available

Zenimax Online has announced that the improved versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S of The Elder Scrolls Online are now available. Those who already own the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will receive the upgrade to the improved versions for free (as long as they own one of the new consoles, of course). Xbox Game Pass subscribers can also take advantage of the new version right away.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Enhanced console version marks a landmark moment as the true Elder Scrolls Online experience arrives on the second generation of consoles. Here is a preview of the improvements players will find in the new version:

Next Generation Performance: With the power of the Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5, the game will be able to run at 60 FPS in Performance mode. For those who want to feast their eyes on the graphics, Fidelity mode allows players on Xbox Series X and PS5 to enjoy the game in native 4K resolution at 30 FPS, while on Xbox Series S the game will run at 1440p and 30 FPS.
Increased Viewing Distance: For gamers who like to admire the immense beauty of ESO, the game’s viewing distance has nearly doubled, allowing them to better see the ever-expanding world of Tamriel.
Enhanced Uploads: Harnessing the power of the next generation means uploads have been nearly halved on Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5, allowing players to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of ESO with shorter delays.
Improved texturing and anti-aliasing: Shadows are now more defined throughout the Tamriel world, creating a more precise graphic effect, and improvements to anti-aliasing have sharpened objects such as foliage and structures.
For the full list of features coming to Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation 5, visit the official ESO site.

In addition to enjoying the enhancements of the Enhanced Console Version, players can continue the annual Gates of Oblivion adventure. Available now on all platforms, the Blackwood chapter will ask players to unravel Daedric plans and thwart tyrannical plots that could destroy the region. Find out how these plans relate to the prince of destruction and the terrible fate he reserved for Tamriel. While Blackwood’s is an independent story, its events delve into the larger saga of Gates of Oblivion that will end at the end of 2021.

You can purchase the Blackwood Chapter through the ESO shop or platform of your choice. The new chapter is available now on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Windows PC, MAC, Stadia, PS5 and PS4.
