Tango Gameworks is not just about Ghostwire: Tokyo. The creators have confirmed the preparation of a new production, for which the director of The Evil Within 2 is responsible. If the rumors are confirmed, we can expect the third part of the horror movie.
After the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, Tango Gameworks became part of the American corporation. Phil Spencer talked to the head of the Japanese studio on the Tokyo Game Show 2021 . The presentation was short and some players were not sure why the head of the Xbox brand mentioned the team at all – after all, the developers officially develop only Ghostwire: Tokyo, a game that will be released only on PS5 and PC next year.
As it turns out, there was a big goal in it. Shinji Mikami has confirmed that John Johanas (director of The Evil Within 2) is “working hard” on the next title. The Japanese was not yet ready to reveal the production, but as the IGN editors accurately see: the title should only target Microsoft’s platforms.
John Johanas worked as a special effects specialist on The Evil Within, then took over development of the series from Mikami and led the team for The Evil Within 2. If the news was right – a large team of Tango Gameworks is already working on The Evil Within 3.
The situation is interesting because although Shinji Mikami is considered the father of the Resident Evil series, the developer is now something of a guardian – John Johanas (director of a secret project) and Kenji Kimura (director of GhostWire: Tokyo) are young creators, but they receive support and are led by the head of Tango Gameworks.
