During a recent interview with Phil Spencer , who took part in the latest episode of the podcast Kinda Funny Gamescast , the boss of the Microsoft gaming division spoke of the possibility of seeing a new controller for the Xbox Series X | S in the future .
After having clearly excluded the arrival of additional peripherals such as a virtual reality helmet in the near future, Spencer said he was open to any improvements for the controller and it is very likely that this will happen.
Here are the words of Phil Spencer:
“When I think about the path we have taken with our hardware, I can only appreciate the evolution of Liz Hamren’s team and the work they have done. We are absolutely evaluating the opportunity to create different types of peripherals that allow for more gaming situations. We will probably also make some changes to the controller. I think Sony has done a great job with the DualSense, device that we have analyzed and that made us understand how we should do something about it. “
It therefore seems that the good Spencer is already working on a possible revision of the Xbox controller, which could support some of the features of the DualSense in the future such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers or propose something completely new.
