The latest graphics card from Nvidia is supposed to be powerful. According to information, it will turn out to be about 10 times stronger than PlayStation 5.
It will be some time yet before the next generation of desktop GPUs from Nvidia and AMD debut on the market. It seems, however, that we are in a race to reach the 100 TFLOPs level.
Nvidia is on top
As reported by notebookcheck.com , information on the performance of the latest Nvidia graphics card comes from proven leakers who use the nicknames kopite7kim and greymon55. According to them, both Nvidia and AMD will face the fight for performance. It is speculated that the upcoming Nvidia Lovelace AD102 GPU will offer 18,432 CUDA cores with 96MB L2 cache ,paired with 384-bit GDDR6X VRAM with a bandwidth of 21 Gbps and a capacity of 24 GB. These cores will be arranged in 12 graphics processing clusters (GPCs), with each GPC offering six texture processing units (TPCs), which will additionally contain two stream multiprocessors (SM) for a total of 144 SM. The RTX 4090 can draw up to 600 watts of power.
To better illustrate the performance at the level of 100 teraflops, it is worth comparing the card with such performance to other known GPUs, as well as consoles. A 100 TFLOPs GPU means it’s theoretically over 2.5x faster than the RTX 3090 Ti, 8x faster than the Xbox Series X, and nearly 10x faster than the PlayStation 5.
