Penguin jumps into Tour Boat to Avoid Being Eaten By Killer Whales

An inflatable dinghy filled with tourists saw the film about the nature of his life, right in front of his eyes.

A gentoo penguin chased by a group of orcas made a desperate leap for cover in their boat.

The successful jump only took place after a failed first attempt, when the little animal threw itself headfirst off the side of the boat and bounced back into the perilous water.

Blogger Matt Karsten and his wife Anna were on a trip through the icebergs of Gerlache Strait, Antarctica, when they saw the incredible chase unfold.

This isn’t the first time humans have been in the right place at the right time to help. An otter in Halibut Cove experienced similar issues and swam frantically to safety, followed by the killer whale.

He reached John Dornellas’ boat and climbed onto the stern just as the orca approached. He returned to the deck of the boat three times until the way was clear.
